The Australian Ballistic Laboratory (ABL) is a modern, state of the art ballistic research and testing facility that specialises in the testing of all types of hard and soft armour for both Military and Law Enforcement applications.
ABL is a privately owned and operated Australian company that is located at Southport, which is approximately 80 kilometres south of Brisbane.
Construction of this new facility was completed in mid 1999 after its management identified a need to enhance the range of ballistic testing facilities available to industry in the Asia/Pacific region.
The Australian Ballistic Laboratory is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) to conduct certified testing in accordance with various standards, including the National Institute of Justice standards, which are recognised worldwide as the most accepted standard for the testing of armour.
